England’s blue and white transferware is highly collectible, particularly the pieces which depict historical events or places. Montague Dawson (British 1895 – 1973), R.A., naval painter. A client asked us to find a proper venue for the sale of this painting which had been inherited from a relative. She was unfamiliar with art sales and had no idea how to proceed. We were able to guide her Dawson oil through the auction process and the painting sold for $65,000.
